'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Ex Palace Man Granville Missing

Danny Granville, once of Leeds and Chelsea, will miss a chance to face former club Crystal Palace, with whom he played in the Premiership, when Colchester play the Eagles tomorrow.

The experienced full-back has a groin injury and so is out of contention for even a place on the bench, but admits he will still go to the game. He place for the London club 135 times in six seasons, and has admitted he is "gutted" to have missed out.

'It's the one game I didn't want to miss this season - it's so frustrating because I had been fairly clear of injuries all season.

'It's bitterly disappointing - but what can you do? But I will still go to the game," he has told the Corydon local press.

'Ever since I signed for Colchester I've looked forward to going back to play at Selhurst Park so I'm gutted.

'I've had some great times there and it will be good to go back and see everyone."
