Colchester 2 - 0 Ipswich

Colchester United have beaten local rivals Ipswich Town 2-0 at home this afternoon keeping a rare clean sheet in the process.

Ipswich came to North Essex this afternoon looking to progress their promotion aspirations but failed as a Colchester team of old refused to lay down and be relegated by their near rivals.

Scott Vernon scored twice as the U's secured the 3 points at a rampant Layer Road giving their long suffering fans something to cheer about!

Thanks, overall we deserved it! It makes you ask the question why Vernon hasn't started every week? Cause maybe we wouldn't be in our posotion if he had!
