Guy Hat-trick Earns Win

Guy Hat-trick Earns Win

A Jamie Guy hat-trick earned the Colchester United second-string a 4-2 victory over MK Dons this afternoon.

First-teamers Kevin Watson, Luke Guttridge, Mark Cousins, Jamie Guy and Kevin McLeod all featured for the U's.

Guy struck early on, only for Reese Ashraff to finish from a tight angle and draw the visitors level.

With the second-half still young, Guy added a second with a fierce effort. Ten minutes in to the second-period Guy completed his treble, as he shot low into the bottom-corner.

Daniel Powell stroked home a penalty, three minutes from a time, as the Dons pressed for an equalizer. But the U's added a fourth as Luke Guttridge rounded the keeper and fired home.

Reserve team manager Joe Dunne said: "I'm pleased with the amount of chances we created. We scored four goals but should have got 14."
