'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Will U`s See Spurs Inductee Sheri?

"He is a rare beast. He managed to pull on a Premiership shirt at the age of 40, he was 33 when he won his first league title with Manchester United, and 31 when Sir Alex signed him. Football in the 21st century isn't particularly conducive to long playing careers; it's hard to imagine another centre forward pulling on a shirt in the top flight at 40." - Gabby Logan, 11th April 2008, on Teddy Sheringham.

Teddy Sheringham will be inducted into Tottenham Hotspur Hall of Fame in May, it was confirmed earlier this month by the Premier League club. Yet, there remains a doubt over whether the 41-year-old striker will be fit enough to pull on a Colchester United shirt again before he retires in four weeks.

Sheringham will be ordained at the end of Tottenham`s 125th anniversary year but has not featured in a match for Colchester since he was prematurely substituted in February, against Preston.

In recent weeks he has been suffering with a toe injury but has appeared on TV's A Question of Sport.

Colchester United reveled last week that they are confident that the former Manchester United player, who has featured eighteen times for the U`s since his summer move, will be fit enough to make a final cameo before hanging up his boots.

What a legend of the game, always a top professional.
The Fear
I really hope he can play again this season, the man is a legend. a truely great pro, who deserves to retire having played in the last game not from the treatment table.
oxfordspur
I am sure he will get time in the pitch for the last game.
Deeno

Would be good! Kevin Watson, too? C'mon Teddy!

Yeah of course, would be funny if we had Teddy going around with a busted foot, Aiden not being able to use one of his arm, cause of the dodgey shoulder and Kev not being able to run! lol
