Fagan Features for Reserves

Manchester United youngster Chris Fagan played for the Colchester second-string, as they played out a 1-1 draw with local rivals Ipswich, this afternoon.

Fagan, who operates up front, is 18 years of age and has come through the ranks at Old Trafford. The Irishman got his chance for Joe Dunne's side, after impressing in a behind closed door game with Crystal Palace.

Tom Webb put the U's one up, at Layer Road, after Bala Balogh played in the rookie striker. This was Webb's first goal for the reserves since returning from a loan spell with Ryman Premier League side, Folkestone Invicta.

Mark Cousins put in a fine display, in the home goal, making a number of quality saves. Prolififc front-man, Jordan Rhodes, drew the Tractor Boys level, as the game finished 1-1.

Reserve team boss, Joe Dunne said: 'Ipswich had some exceptional players in their side and I hope our players are really proud of what they have done.

'When you're playing against good players you don't get time to have a rest and you have to be on your game.

'I thought that it was a very entertaining game - I'm sure that those who made the effort to come and watch were pleased they did.'
