'We have to stand up and be counted'

'We have to stand up and be counted'

Colchester United's John White believes the U's 'have to stand up and be counted' following their heaviest home defeat in five years.

The U's squandered Scott Vernon's first-half goal, as Coventry ran out 5-1 winners on Saturday.

'It's been the story of our season, not being able to hold on to a lead,' White told The Colchester Gazette.

'And for Coventry to go on and then score five goals was devastating for everyone involved.

'It's down to us and we wanted to go out and play for pride.'

The ex-Stevenage loanee added: 'I think we have to stand up and be counted and take responsibility, which is what we haven't been able to do all season and is why we're down where we are.'

S'arlight! was just a moan anyway, but still.. Player of the Season? Can't be any of the new lads. It would be between Yeates, Jackson and Lisbie. Since Gerken has had hardly any clean sheets, it's not him and Yeates has been out. Jackson and Lisbie will fight it out... and I think Lisbie will win!!

So do I, but Jackson could win it! I went for Gerken in the poll, may not of kept lots of clean sheets but he hasn't done much wrong, and has stopped us from embarrasing defeats on many occasions! But on reflection I'll go for Adam Virgo....NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

Match Day Officials v Swindon

The Football League have now announced the Match Day officials that will take charge of the game against Swindon Town this weekend.

Unhappy Keeper Back With Norwich

Kean had come in on a 28-day from Norwich but his time at the Weston Homes Community Stadium is over with Keen confirming he was 'unhappy with a couple of things.'

Panicking? Not Yet!

Before the Southend game Keen insisted he wasn't panicking, despite the U's being seven-points adrift of safety. Three-goals in the final 10-minutes lead to another defeat of course.
