Four Triallists Get Chance

Four Triallists Get Chance

A quartet of triallists were given a chance to impress last night for the U's reserves.

The U's second string comfortably beat Peterborough 3-0, with Tom Webb, Luke Guttridge and Fabian Quintyn all scoring.

Ipswich Town's Curtley Williams was one of the triallists to feature. Williams is a tall central midfielder, who is 18-years-old, and comes from Needham Market. The under-18 captain is set to be released by the Suffolk side and has also had trials with Grimsby, Lincoln, Stevenage Borough and yesterday's opponents Peterborough.

Derby County youngster Tyrone Amory was another to be given a chance to impress. Amory is a winger-come-striker who is a second-year scholar at Pride Park. Birmingham-born Amory is 18 years-of-age.

Charlton Athletic's Rhys Coleman featured. Coleman is a commanding centre-back, who has started three games for the Charlton reserve side. The 18-year-old is also set to be freed at the end of the season.

Meanwhile Chelsea youngster James Simmonds made up the four hopefuls, as he also played. Simmonds is a versatile player, who can play anywhere in midfield or up front. He is 20 years-of-age.

Have heard of the Derby youngster and Chelsea one, but not the others. I hear the Simmonds done quite well. We had a trial goalie the other wekk I think. Do we need a keeper with Davison retiring? Up the U's!
