'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Williams Knows Players Fate

Colchester United manager Geraint Williams has revealed the he know which players will and won't be offered new contracts in the summer.

Speaking to The Colchester Gazette, Williams said: 'We know the important thing for us is to keep our best players.

'We know which players will be offered contracts and which won't - Sunday's match (against Scunthorpe) won't change that.

'It's important that those players who are leaving are told first, as it's only right and fair.'

Williams also spoke about the U's looking ahead to next season in League One, with four triallists featuring midweek for the reserves.

He continued: 'We've looked at several triallists and as a club we always look everywhere for potential new signings.

'It's a never-ending thing and a club the size of ours has to look for players who other people may not be aware of.

'There are players we're interested in bringing to the football club and those that we've kept an eye on throughout the year.'
