Williams: 'I Felt Like Walking Away'

Colchester United manager Geraint Williams has admitted he 'felt like walking away' at a number of times last season.

The U's had a horrible campaign, eventually ending with a bottom-placed finish and relelgation.

Speaking to The Colchester Gazette, he revealed: 'There were a number of times last season when I felt like walking away. I was very, very frustrated with the results we were getting and I'm the sort of person who takes losing very hard.

'I don't normally show my emotions, as people know, but inside it hurts as much as it does anyone else.

'There were many low moments last year.

'There were some dark times and that's when you need good people around you which is what I've got,' the Welshmen explained.

Williams also praised the support he received from his family, Robbie Cowling and fellow staff.

He said: 'I've had my family, the chairman (Robbie Cowling) and staff here and they've all been very supportive.'

So are you glad Williams is still the U's boss? Or do you wish he had left? We want to know YOUR thoughts?

If we aren't top six by christmas I don't think he will be thinking about walking away-the board would have sacked him!
