Granville Backs Palace's Yeates Swoop

Released Colchester United defender Danny Granville has backed ex-club Crystal Palace's reported swoop for U's winger Mark Yeates.

Granville, who joined the U's last summer, told The Croydon Advertiser: 'He started off at Tottenham so he has good pedigree. He can play both left and right wing, but he was more of a right winger for us.

'He can also play just behind the front two, though his favoured positioned is out on the wing, and he has scored a number of free kicks for us this season.

'He certainly is an exciting player and he can certainly cut it at Championship level and he would definitely be a good acquisition for Palace, or any other Championship club for that matter.'

So is Granville atempting to get his own back on the U's, following his release? We Want to know YOUR thoughts?

Well in my opinion this is Granville's way of trying to get back at the U's for not offering him a new contract. But Danny you WERE NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! He didn't need to say all this, but has just said that Yeates would be a good signing for any Championship club to try and get back at us. Very unprofessional Danny.

Ive heard a league 1 team are interested in Granville but he is holding out for a championship team! - Keep dreaming Granville, I doubt you would even get in a league 1 side.

Have heard Leyton Orient want him! Can't see a Champ club signing him! Up the U's!
