Williams Wants A Wide-Man

Colchester United manager Geraint Williams as confirmed the U's are on the lookout for a left-sided midfielder, following the departure of Kevin McLeod to Brighton.

Macca rejected the U's offer of a new deal and decided to link up with ex-assistant Micky Adams, instead. Despite having teenage left-winger Medy Eltio, Williams is keen to bring in a new face to challenge Elito for a starting berth. Elito finished the season in strong form, restricting McLeod to a place on the bench on a number of occasions.

Williams told The Colchester Gazette: 'Medy was keeping Kevin out of the side towards the end of last season and he was in the team on merit.'

He continued: 'But we would like to bring someone else in to put Medy under pressure for that starting place.

'We're always looking to improve our squad.'

So who do the U's need another left winger? If so, who would YOU like to see brought in? Let us know with a comment below...
