Coyne Set For International Bow

Colchester United defender Chris Coyne could be set to make his international debut on Saturday.

The Australian has been training with his national squad over the past few weeks, ahead of this weekend's World Cup qualifier with Iraq. Coach Pim Verbeek has revealed he is set to shuffle his backline after some nervous moments in last week's friendly.

Despite not confirming Coyne would feature, Verbeek sang his praises, he told www.footballaustralia.com.au: 'He has personality; he`s a leader; he`s a tough defender; he`s a very good header; he`s never in panic, so he is somebody so far that we don`t have in the backline.

'Everything I have said is exactly what he is doing, so that is good. I have the confidence (in him) that`s why I took him in the last selections, so he can do a job.'

Agree, Doogie aint been good enough and doesn't lead the team, Conyey or Jacko for captain!

Definately but i don't see Doogie having it taken away. He just doesnt seem to say anything or get the team going

Yeah, Doogie always seems to play... even if he had a bad game the week before or whatever, just because he's captain, which is not right!

Perhaps Doogie is not performing well all the time, but he is the club's leader!!

Well he never acted like a leader last season, never saw him play a good game neither.
