Virgo Makes Brighton Return

Ex-Colchester United loanee Adam Virgo has completed a free transfer move to home town club, Brighton and Hove Albion.

Virgo, 25, spent last season on loan with the U's, from Scottish Premier League side Celtic. Virgo is the second former U's man to link up with ex-U's assistant, Micky Adams, at the Withdean stadium, following Kevin McLeod's move last month.

In 2004, Virgo made a £1.5 million to Parkhead but filed to break into the first team and was loaned to Coventry City. Virgo has put pen-to-paper on a two-year deal with Albion.

Brighton chairmen Dick Night told the club's official website: 'Second to Ronaldo's proposed move to Real Madrid, it was perhaps the worst kept secret in football that the club were keen to re-sign Adam!

'The rumour mill was right on this occasion as behind the scenes Micky and I have been working hard with Adam and his agent to achieve the deal - in the face of some serious competition - and I am very pleased Adam has agreed to rejoin the club.

'He has already enjoyed success with the Albion, and I am sure he will be keen to replicate that in the very near future.'

Vital Colchester would like to thank Adam for his efforts in a U's shirt and wish him the best of luck for the future.

I think this move was always on the cards. It was on Adams' recomendation that he was signed last season. A pattern is starting to emerge with Brighton signing all our rubbish rejects; they must have just missed out on Granville, Guttridge to sign next? Or even tempting Teddy out of retirement????!!!
