Ex-U's Man Halford On The Move Again

Ex-U's Man Halford On The Move Again

Former Colchester United star Greg Halford has joined Sheffield United on a season-long loan.

The Sunderland defender joins the Blades following a loan spell with Charlton at the back end of last season.

Chelmsford-born Halford told BBC Radio Sheffield: 'Promotion is first and foremost, it's a massive club with good players here.

'It's going to be a tough season but promotion is definitely on the cards.'

Halford, who played in a number of roles in his time with the U's, left North Essex in January 2007 to join Reading in a record £2.5m pound deal. After failing to settle at the Madejski Stadium, Reading offloaded him to Sunderland for £3.5m. He was then loaned to Charlton for the second half of last season.

Vital Colchester would like to wish Greg the best of luck with Sheffield United.

Well would seem strange, really liked the look of him. Yeah saw the Iwelumo to Wolves link, hasn't had the best season with Charlton.
