Position: Striker


Gillespie, who recently handed in a transfer request following heavy interest, started his career with Liverpool. He came to the Anfield club's attention following his goalscoring form as a school boy.

After a year on Merseyside, Gillespie joined Bristol City in 2004. The front-man found chances hard to come by at Ashton Gate and was sent on loan to Cheltenham.

Following another loan spell at Whaddon Road, Gillespie made his move permanent in January 2006. In his two-and-a-half years with Town, he scored 21 goals in 51 league starts.
