Palace Stall Yeates Interest

Colchester United winger Mark Yeates' much-talked about on-off transfer to Crystal Palace looks to be off... For the time being at least.

A shoulder injury, which the 23-year-old picked up in February, is still not healed, prompting Palace to cool their interest.

Eagles boss Neil Warnock told the South London Press: 'At the moment we won't be taking our interest any further.

'Mark's shoulder has improved an awful lot but we still feel he has a way to go yet.

'We have both decided it's best if he gets back to training and we see how it goes in pre-season,' he added.

'With Neil Danns injured I've got to go by what the medical people say.'
