Watson Continues Search for New Club

Watson Continues Search for New Club

Former Colchester United midfielder Kevin Watson has joined Northampton Town on trial and is hoping to take part in the Cobblers pre-season friendly against Q.P.R on Wednesday.

Watson was invited to join the cobblers by Stuart Gray who is said to be keen to add experience to his midfield.

Gray said, 'I've invited Kevin Watson to train with us for a couple of days and he might feature in the game against QPR on Wednesday night.'

'He was released by Colchester at the end of last season, he's a good old head who can sit in midfield and these couple of days he's got with us will allow us to have a good look at him and vice versa.'

'He's got a decent pedigree and a good playing background but ultimately now the ball is in his court,' Gray continued, 'I've always said I've wanted an older head in midfield but whether that will be Kevin or someone else we will have to wait and see.

Vital Colchester wish 34 year old Watson all the best in his search for a new club. Watson was pivotal in centre of Midfield often being the key to unlock many defences.

He was released by Colchester at the end of last season, a season which he was plagued by injury.
