Cobblers Keen On Gutts

Released Colchester United midfielder Luke Guttridge is set for talks with Northampton Town over a permanent move to Sixfields.

Guttridge, who was freed by the U's in May, has recently been on trial with the Cobblers. The ex-Southend United man impressed Town boss Stuart Gray with a solid performance in Tuesday's defeat to West Brom.

Gray said: 'I will sit down and have a chat with Luke Guttridge and his agent.

'He has qualities but he is a little off the pace at the moment, although we can work on that.

'We have released Matt Halliday but we will talk to Luke and see where we go.'
