Quiet Deadline Day At The WHCS

Colchester United fans saw no ins or outs in a quiet transfer deadline day at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

In-form winger Mark Yeates is still a Colchester player, after seeing no revival of his on-off transfer to Crystal Palace. The Irishmen saw a proposed move to Selhurst Park collapse earlier this summer, due to failed medical.

Late is the day rumours surfaced of right-back Phil Ifil holding talks with Championship new-boys Nottingham Forest, over a move to the City ground. But it seems they were just rumours.
