'If It's Football, It's Vital'

U's Boss Praises Perkins

Colchester United manager Geraint Williams praised new-boy David Perkins after an impressive display at Millwall.

Perkins was making his full U's debut, following a summer move from Rochdale, and scored just eight minutes in.

Williams, post-match, said: 'You can see he`s eager to make up time.

'He was very frustrated about the suspension at the start of the season and he wants to make up for it.

'It was a great strike by David.

'It seemed to catch the keeper and the bar but I think it should stay as his goal.

'David and all of the players showed how much being in the team means to them.'
