Duo Stake Claim

Colchester United duo David Perkins and Akanni-Sunday Wasiu staked a claim for a first-team place after scoring for the reserves.

The U's second-string strolled to an impressive 3-0 away victory over their Leyton Orient counterparts.

The U's dominated throughout and took the lead with only six minutes gone, when Perkins curled home to put the visitors one-up.

Wasiu made it two from close-range and then doubled his tally with a stunning strike from the edge of the penalty area.

Pat Baldwin, Medy Eltio, Dean Hammond and Mark Cousins all featured at Brisbane Road.

So have Perkins and Wasiu done enough to warrant a starting-place on Saturday?
