The Race To Replace - Day 2

Geraint Williams left his post as U's manager on Monday morning following a poor start to the season. The Welshmen departed by 'mutual consent' after just over two years in charge.

Vital Colchester's StevieG Col U brings you the latest in the race to replace him.

Three Horse Race...

Billy Davies, Phil Parkinson and Ian Holloway appear to be leading a three man race to become the new U's boss.

The trio have been hotly-tipped in a selection of national newspapers to succeed Williams at the helm.

More Names In Hat...

Lincoln City manager Peter Jackson, Leyton Orient's Martin Ling and highly-rated Bristol Rover's boss Paul Trollope have also been mentioned as possible replacements.

Well, nothing for certaint yet, but I'm pleased with the names being linked. Up the U's!

Who has mentioned these players? Internet rumours or something concrete?

I can't see Peter Jackson leaving us (Lincoln) even though he has yet to sign his new contract, as he says that he is very happy here.
