The Race To Replace - Day 3

Geraint Williams ended a 10-year association with the U's on Monday morning, when he left his role as U's manager.

Vital Colchester's StevieG Col U brings you the latest in the race to replace him.

Lomas In The Frame...

Steve Lomas has been added to the list of names in the running to take over from Williams at the Weston Homes Community Stadium. The ex-Northern Ireland captain has been linked to the post in two national newspapers, along with other sources.

Lomas, 34, is looking to make the step into management after hanging up his boots earlier this year. The former West Ham and Manchester City midfielder has already completed his coaching badges. Also, U's chairmen Robbie Cowling is well-known for his connections with Lomas' old club West Ham.

Curbishley In...

Alan Curbishley, another ex-West Ham man, is also emerging as a strong contender.

Parky Link Continues...

However, ex-U's boss Phil Parkinson continues to be linked with a return to North Essex just over two years after he left.

Lomas- No way, no experience as a manager

Agree, there must be better options, someone more experienced preferably.
