Coyne Set For Gold Coast Move?

Colchester United captain Chris Coyne has been linked with a surprise move to Australian A-league side Gold Coast United.

Over the weekend, tribalfootball reported that Coyne has held talks with Gold Coast assistant Paul Okon.

The 29-year-old former Luton Town centre-back has struggled to hold down a regular first team place at the Weston Homes Community Stadium. Despite this, Coyne has starred for the Australian national team in recent months.

Gold Coast have recently been taken over by billionaire Clive Palmer, the richest man in Queensland.

Its been strange that he hasnt been getting in as I think he is our best defender

Pat looked strong at Stockport and reid is becoming to look even stronger , if we get offered more than what we paid , take it.

Yeah, it's a strange one, hasn't really featured since becoming captain but being away on international duty hasn't helped. Wouldn't want to lose him, but if they offered a lot of money, then who knows?

There have been rumours that he has been out of the side as a punishment over some comments he made at a team meeting.

... like what? If that is true, then he could argue that he was just being a good skipper. The evidence that the armband is being trialed elsewhere seems to fit with that story!
