Lambert Keen to Keep Walker

Lambert Keen to Keep Walker

Colchester manager Paul Lambert is keen on keeping goalkeeper Jimmy Walker who is presently on loan from West Ham, and who played an important part in securing the U's 3 points today saving a second half penalty.

'He has been terrific for us since he signed and I told him after the game that he reminds me of Andy Goram in his pomp at Rangers. Jimmy is top class.' Lambert said

commenting after today's home win against Leyton Orient Lambert added,

'The lads were great today and it is a big ask for them to play two games in three days, but they have done really, really well,'

'It was a tough, tough game but the lads worked very hard today and deserved their win.

'If you were to ask me what I wanted for 2009, it would be to get out of this league. I am not saying we're going to do it, but the lads have done really well since we came in and I am pleased with how it's all going.'
