Community Club of the Year is Colchester United`s latest nomination in the annual Football League Awards 2008/9, which also rates the country`s top players.
The nomination marks the third-year running that the Essex club have been nominated for an award, following first place for Best Matchday Programme in 2005/6.
United were also highly commended during last year's awards in the Sports Alliance Family Club of the Year category.
Vital Colchester has a proud association with the club itself, having two active columnists in the matchday magazine, our very own C02 and Matt_Us, both contrinuting to the suplement on a regular basis.
The U's Review supplement recently won more acclaim, this time from programme collectors' bible, Programme Monthly. They called the publication: "...one of the best programmes in the country, never mind League One. Superb value for money and of the longest, and best reads, in the country this season. A certain contender for honours."
