Tierney Sets Play-off Marker

Marc Tierney, whose run to head in Tuesday night`s winning goal was described as 'gut-busting` on BBC Radio, has admitted he still wants to make the top six this season.

He told the EADT after Tuesday`s win against Stockport County. He said: "We want to make sure that this is not just a one-off result. We want to go again and I've set my eyes firmly on us getting into the play-offs."

The optimistic full-back, whose professional approach to the game has won several plaudits in the months he arrived from Shrewsbury.

"We genuinely believe that we can go on another run, like the one before. You have to believe in yourself." That period was of just one defeat nearly twenty hours of football.

"I think we are a good side, and we showed that in patches against Stockport."

The paper mentions that the side will need to amass some thirty points between now and the end of the season to stand any chance of making the play-offs.

The manager Paul Lambert has also said the player, who was Man of The Match against County, is "getting better and better withy each passing game."

Yeah, we need a bit of consistency, but we're on a two game unbeaten run now. ;-)
