U's Man Heath In Loan Move

Matt Heath has today joined the U's League One rivals Brighton and Hove Albion on loan.

The tall centre back will spend a month at the Withdean Stadium after failing to become a regular starter under Paul Lambert.

The Seagulls are suffering from a bit of an injury crisis at present, so Heath will be looking to fill in. They are currently without a permanent manger after ex-U's assistant manager Micky Adams was sacked.

The deal is subject to paperwork clearance from the Football League.

Vital Colchester would like to wish Matt the best of luck in his time with Brighton.

.. be he was a Williams signing and Baldwin has been great at the back since he has come in. Does need the games!

Don't think he is going to feature for us much now as he seems to be 4th choice behind Baldwin, Reid and Coyne. Which is probably about right in my view.

... he's not behind Coyne. He's younger. He will always lack height. If we got Rob Jones, I'd let Heath go. But his height is an obvious advantage.
