U's Reserves Ease To Blues Win

Colchester United's reserve side eased to a 3-0 win over their Essex rival Southend's counterparts.

Shortly before half-time Russell Malton gave the U's the lead at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, firing in with his left-foot after beating a defender.

The home side were two nil up just after seventy-minutes, thanks to Medy Elito who calmly curled the ball into the top-corner from the edge of the box.

One minutes from the end U's substitute Jordan Pavett headed home at the near post to put gloss on the win.
