Full-Back Set For U's Deal Talks
ALAN MAYBURY is set to start talks over prolonging his Colchester United career.
The 30-year-old full-back signed a six month deal at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, following a successful trial period, in early December.
Maybury has generally impressed in his 18 appearances in a U's shirt, although a number of fans feel his performance level of late has fallen.
U's boss Paul Lambert said: 'He has done great for us. He has been consistent and we are talking to Alan and his agent to see what they think about him staying longer.'
Maybury himself also confirmed his desire to extend his stay with the League One outfit.
'I would like to stay,' the Irishman revealed.
'There is still plenty of time left this season and so there is no panic to get it sorted at the moment.'

Agree that he hasn't been as good lately, probably since the Southend game but he is a good player. I do feel sorry for John White cos he was performing well. Phil Ifill - No chance!

Yeah, hasn't looked at all solid of late. Long-term I'd have White over Maybury. What will happen with Ifil?? No one seems to want him? Us or another side!!

Vernon has left on loan to Northampton and we have taken Karl Hawley on loan from Preston today. Think that sort of indicates that Vernon may be surplus to requirements, Hawley is a good player.
