PAUL LAMBERT labeled the performance of referee Graham Scott as 'abysmal,' following Colchester United's 3-0 defeat to Scunthorpe United.
The U's chief was left fuming after any late play-off hopes were firmly dismissed at Glanford Park. To read Vital Colchester's match report, click here.
'I thought we were decent in the first half, and could have been in front at half-time.
'But the second-half performance was about as poor as I've seen since I've been at the club. It was disappointing for everyone, the players and the fans who come to watch us,' Lambert said.
The ex-Celtic hero highlighted an incident involving Mark Yeates, where he felt the U's should have been awarded a penalty, as a vital point.
Lambert fumed: 'However, I also thought we should have had a stone-wall penalty when it was still only 1-0. I've seen that on the video and it was a definite penalty.
'In fact, I thought the referee was abysmal all afternoon. His decisions were poor for both teams,' he concluded.
So did you attend the game? Did you think it should have been a spot-kick?
