COLCHESTER UNITED will play host to Premier League side Aston Villa in a pre-season friendly.
The Villains will visit North Essex, and the Weston Homes Community Stadium, on Tuesday July 21st, with kick off at 7:45pm. Villa currently sit 5th in the Premiership after an impressive campaign.
U's boss Paul Lambert's played under Villa chief Martin O'Neill for a number of years at Celtic.
The match will be the highlight of the U's pre-season fixture list.
U's Chief Executive Steve Bradshaw told the club's official website: 'We are delighted to be able to welcome Villa to the club's new community stadium.
'Clearly the manager's contacts are considered important in making this friendly happen, but also Villa regard us as a club moving forward and want to spend time with us at crucial point in their pre-season build up.'
So are you happy with the planned visit of Villa?
