Gaffer Hopeful Over Corcoran

COLCHESTER UNITED boss Paul Lambert is 'hopeful' youngster Sam Corcoran can progress as a player.

Corcoran, a product of the U's YTS system, made his senior debut in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Hereford United. Corcoran replaced Maybury, in the 89th minute, at Edgar Street.

Lambert recently criticised the lack of talent coming through the U's youth system but Corcoran, 17, could be one-to-watch.

And Lambert told BBC Essex: 'We've given him a little glimmer of hope and hopefully he'll progress.'

So have you seen much of Corcoran? And do you think he is a good prospect?

Reviews of his performances for the youth and reserves teams have been very good but can't help but think he may struggle to impact as he is a central midfielder and we have loads of them already. Woody can barely get a game in the centre and is primarily used wide.

Yep, we have got a lot of central midfielders, perhaps offering him a contract and then loaning him out for the season could be an option?
