Lambert To Raid Former Side?

Lambert To Raid Former Side?

PAUL LAMBERT is rumoured to be set to raid his former club, Wycombe Wanderers, to sign combative midfielder Tommy Doherty.

The Colchester United chief signed the Northern Ireland international when he was at Adams Park and could be set to swoop once again.

The 30-year-old former Bristol City and QPR man plays in central midfield, a position where the U's are currently well equipped so any deal would seem strange.

Doherty is under contract with Peter Taylor's men until July 2010, so the U's would be required to pay a fee for him.
