Wasiu To Depart U's

COLCHESTER UNITED striker Akanni-Sunday Wasiu will leave when he his current contract expires in the summer.

Wasiu has struggled to hold down a regular place at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, since joining a year ago, starting only a handful of games since Paul Lambert took over.

And after being shipped out on loan to Luton at the turn of the year this news will come as no surprise to many U's followers.

Wasiu told The Colchester Gazette: 'I had a chat with the manager.

'He said that he wouldn`t be able to offer me another contract.'

Vital Colchester would like to wish Wasiu the best of luck in the rest of his career.

So are you surprised to see Wasiu leave? Or was it something you expected?

Not surprised in the slightest, was a gamble when he signed last summer which hasn't really paid off but he could do well by dropping down a leaague or two

Yep, always expected. He always gave 100% with non-stop running, better than some of our other strikers, but hasn't got the talent.

No, that must it! Was a small gamble really, but he did score two in ten, haha!
