Transfer News: Vincent Seals Switch

COLCHESTER UNITED have moved to make Ashley Vincent's loan move permanent, with the winger-cum-striker wrapping up the deal yesterday.

Vincent signing, from Cheltenham Town, will come as little surprise to many U's followers, with a full-time deal mooted ever since making his loan move.

The 24-year-old forward netted once in six U's appearances and impressed boss Paul Lambert while on loan.

He told the club's official website: 'Signing for Colchester gives me another chance to have a good crack at League One, but in a side that is aiming to play in the Championship.

'I want to play at the highest level possible and I feel that I can do that at Colchester United.

'I am aiming to help them get out of the division in what will be a successful season,'
the ex-Wolves trainee enthused.

'Playing under the manager has already been really good, and he has showed exactly what he wants from me.'

So are you happy to see Vincent sign?
