No Guarantees For Coyne

Colchester United's Chris Coyne is not leaving the club - yet.

The Australian international has become part of the national set-up to the detriment of his United career and comments attributed to him last week said he was ready to leave the club.

Paul Lambert yesterday denied that when speaking to the BBC and was critical of reporters for relying on things supposedly uttered by Coyne now that he is away again with his country.

Lambert did little to clear the air, but however explained he understood Coyne`s desire to get first-team football with the 2010 World Cup in South Africa juts under a year away.

"You can`t guarantee anybody anything. It`s a big year for Coyne regarding the World Cup and if he doesn`t play here I`m pretty sure he`d want to play elsewhere to get into that Australians World Cup squad."

Has Coyne Got any fututre with Cpolchester United?

The way Lambert was talking it was like he had left. I actaully want him to go now so we can stop talking and writing about it!

Yep, if we can get a transfer fee then great! But if not release him from his contract and we should save a bit on wages and then we can look to get some new faces in.

That would make him the biggest waste of money since... Phil Ifil!
