Left-back Locky Linked With Leyton Return

Full-back Matt Lockwood has been rumoured to be considering a return to Leyton Orient, linking up with ex-U's boss Geraint Williams in the process.

The Colchester United defender, who joined the U's 12-months ago from Nottingham Forest, after rejecting a return to Orient, has struggled to hold down a starting spot at the WHCS. Injuries and the form of fellow new-boy Marc Tierney restricted the 32-year-old to just five U's appearances in his first season.

Lockwood is thought to be one of a number of players manager Paul Lambert told are free to leave North Essex. And a recent report in the West Essex Guardian confirmed the rumours linking Lockwood with a sensational return.

Lockwood also struggled at Forest, for one season, after leaving the O's, with his loan spell, from the U's, at Barnet, Lockwood's most productive spell of late.

The Rochford-born player is the second U's player to be linked to with a summer move to Brisbane Road, with young U's winger Medy Elito also thought to be on Williams' radar. To read the article, click here.

He was skipper there and score plenty of goals for them. Williams obviously rates him and he won't get much of a chance when Tierney is in good form. Plus we have Jackson and White for cover. At the right price, he's sure to go!

Like the headline as well...! Up the U's!
Matt_Us
let him go on a free as he's not gonna get in the team and is no doubt on a large wage
ooohhJohnnieJackson
Yep, think he should go, free up some wage bill and like Matt says we have Jacko and White for cover.

I think this is very likely to happen!
