Latest Odds - Col U Promotion Bid @ 9/2

So certain sources are talking up Colchester`s chances of winning promotion in 2009/10. But what do the punters think?

The fixtures were released this week, but the Coca-Cola League One odds on Colchester actually winning the Championship, as manager Paul Lambert keeps saying is his aim, are actually quite long.

Leeds United, Norwich City, Charlton and MK Dons are the bookies` favourites for the top positions, while Colchester are currently the twelfth likeliest side to secure promotion, according to forecasts on Oddschecker.

They show that Skybet place Colchester currently at 9/2, although Blue Square have the club at 11/2 to achieve an elevation.

Betfair however are offering a worrying 6/4 on the club to suffer relegation, although U`s fans have been promised much more than that!

The club`s first three games in August are Norwich away, Yeovil at home followed by Gillingham, as well as a Carling Cup clash against Leyton Orient and the return of former boss Geraint Williams to look forward to.
