Transfer Rumour: Gerken Set For Parky Reunion?

Dean Gerken has been linked with a move to Charlton Athletic, where ex-U's boss Phil Parkinson currently acts as manager.

The Colchester United stopper is set to move to The Valley, if reports coming out of South London are to be believed, with some even saying he's already signed.

After losing his place to loan 'keeper Jimmy Walker, Gerken was loaned out to League Two outfit Darlington, where he impressed during the winter months. And Walker has been linked with a return to the Weston Homes Community Stadium, which with fellow goalie Mark Cousins recently extending his contract, would prompt Gerken to look elsewhere.

Although no fee has been mentioned the U's will surely be hoping for something around the £500,000 sum.

Gerken, now 24, established himself between the U's sticks at the back end of last season after a frustrating time earlier on in the campaign.

So do you think this will happen? Or is it a non-starter?

Charlton have no money so NO CHANCE!

I havn't seen any reports saying that! But still, I don't think he'll go, not there when they can't afford it!

... like the turn of phrase, because I don't think Parky will be there much longer. He "acts as manager." Valid use, but funny, too: is he just pretending? Haha!
Matt_Us
Wouldn't be surprised to see something happen...!!! Well, not sure if he'll stay, couldn't think how to put it!

Yeah, "acting manager," as if he's just a fake one!
Matt_Us
At the moment, we are looking to cut costs and doubt we are looking to sign anyone that would command a fee. You can have Parky for him in a swap deal?? lol See ya next season fellas.

I'm not sure he's welcome back after the way he left, although he might have retutned last season. No, thanks!
