Vital U's: Transfer + Gossip Column

INBOUND:

Ashley Vincent - Cheltenham Town - Pens three-year deal following successful loan spell at the Community Stadium. Done Deal!

Danny Woodards - Crewe Alexandra - A number of League One clubs, including the U's, keen on the young right-back but MK Dons win race. No Deal!

Jimmy Walker - Free Agent - Veteran stopper thought to be attracting Lambert's attention after impressive loan spell last season. Likely!

Grant Holt - Shrewsbury Town - Despite having an initial recent £250,000 bid rejected the U's still are keen. Highly Likely!

David Fox - Blackpool - Ex-Manchester United midfielder wings in to add healthy competition in the centre of midfield. Done Deal!

Magnus Okuonghae - Dagenham & Redbridge - Contract rebel linked and could be the man to bolster defence. Possible!

Michael Nelson - Free Agent - Wanted by a handful of clubs, in a race which results in Norwich City securing his services. No Deal!

Rob Jones - Hibernian - Giant center-halve was subject of January transfer bid from U's. Possible

Lee Beevers - Lincoln City - Rejects offer from SPL side Motherwell is favour of move to North Essex. Done Deal!

OUTBOUND:

Mark Yeates - Middlesbrough, Bristol City + Others - The tricky wide-man looks set to seal a switch to Boro. Highly Likely!

Matt Lockwood - Leyton Orient - Could well link up with former boss Geraint Williams and seal an emotional return to the O's in the process. Likely!

Jamie Guy - Dagenham & Redbridge - After loan spell with The Daggers last season a permanent move has been touted, could he be used as bait for Okuonghae? Possible!

Akanni-Sunday Wasiu - Free Agent - Nigerian front-runner will leave when his contract expires in July after unsuccessful spell. Done Deal!

Chris Coyne - Perth Glory + Others - Long running transfer saga looks set to end in a move back to Coyne's homeland. Highly Likely!

Medy Elito - Leyton Orient - Another U's player to be linked with Orient, a loan deal would be the most likely option. Possible!

Dean Gerken - Charlton Athletic - Highly-rated stopper linked with Summer move to South London, although The Addicks have since rejected the claims. Unlikely!

So what do you think of the U's dealings in and out so far?

I was impressed by this article! Thanks for putting it together. I'm not sure about this Beevers bloke but Guy and Coyne can go if they want to! Would be nice to keep Deano and as for Walker, I'm no longer fussed if he joins or not.

Well, I personally would prefer a loan deal for Elito as I still feel he's got something about him...

Yeah, me too. But unless he was a free, I seriously doubt he could go there for any money!

Worryingly. But I suppose the guy is not much of a gamble and unless we sell Baldwin he may not be automatic first choice, right away.

If not Coyne, the one to go should be Heath I think. If we are to get rid od Coyne, I think all we need then is two more strikers, with one of them being a proven goal scorer and the other one being fast/tricky. Get rid of Vernon and Guy. So out strikeforce would be Gilly, Platt, and 2 new strikers. One more signing should do it, and that would be Yeatesy replacement, whoever it may be.

Looks like you guys are building quite a strong squad here, shame you lost Yeates but I guess it will free up some cash.

Unhappy Keeper Back With Norwich

Kean had come in on a 28-day from Norwich but his time at the Weston Homes Community Stadium is over with Keen confirming he was 'unhappy with a couple of things.'

Panicking? Not Yet!

Before the Southend game Keen insisted he wasn't panicking, despite the U's being seven-points adrift of safety. Three-goals in the final 10-minutes lead to another defeat of course.

League 1 - Southend 3-0 Colchester

Having battled for almost an hour with 10-men three-goals in the final 10-minutes from Southend condemned Colchester to a three-nil defeat.
