Colchester United may have failed in a bid to sign Grant Holt from Shrewsbury, but our latest poll shows you think the club defiantly need a new striker.
It was suggested by site member The Stig, although as far as we know, he isn't F1 legend Mchael Schumacher posing as a Colchester fan!
The results were mixed but heavily in favour of investment in forward firepower, which the U`s should now be able to afford after the sale of Mark Yeates this week, as reported on our website.
Manager Paul Lambert already admitted, as reported also on Vital Colchester, that Clive Platt shouldered too much of the stiking burden last season, promting overtures for Shews ace Holt.
The poll results reflect that, with Sixty two percent highlighting it as the main area to improve. The U's currently have Jamie Guy, Scott Vernon and Steve Gillespie, although Guy could soon make a move to Dagenham and Redbridge this summer where he spent some of last season on loan.
Jamie Cureton is the highest profile possible transfer target to be linked with the club, in what could be a sensational return, following his public decleation this week that he needs first-team football.
The next biggest area of concern was... all over the field! Sixteen percent said the squad needs revamping after last seaon's mid-table showing, and signings have already been made. To view all the club's possible transfer targets as reviewed by Vital U's, click here.
Ten percent of you would like to see the long-running goalpeeking saga at the club resloved, with Dean Gerken and Mark Cousins looking set to face competiton, perhaps frrom latest reported target Ben Williams.
The remaining twelve percent were split between signing more midfielers - the U's squad is now top-heavy with the them - and improving the defence.
