U's Man Gilly: I'm Feeling Good!

Steven Gillespie, Colchester United's record signing, has revealed that he is feeling good ahead of the new season.

The tricky front-man's maiden season in North Essex was blighted by injury and he failed to reach top gear. However, Gillespie is now reaching full-fitness after intense fitness work over the past couple of weeks.

Speaking to The Daily Gazette, the Liverpool-born striker enthused: 'I`m feeling good.

'We`ve been given a hard programme during the summer, which I`ve been sticking to.'

Gillespie, now 24, recognised that he has a lot to prove after a disappointing campaign last year.

'It`s more important for me than the other lads because of last season,' he added.

So do you think Gilly will prove himself to be a top player next season?
