Man-Mountain Magnus: Sky The Limit For U's

Colchester United defender Magnus Okuonghae believes he has joined a club which is only going in one direction - up!

Okuonghae joined the U's just over seven days ago, click here, from Dagenham & Redbridge, with the fee to be set by a tribunal. And despite only experiencing a short time with the U's, he is already confident for the season ahead.

The bulky centre-half told The Daily Gazette: 'The club itself seems like it is going in the right direction.'

"We have a good young manager and you can see that with the overall ambition the club has, it resembles clubs on the up, like Peterborough and MK Dons.

Okuonghae turned down a number of arguably 'bigger' clubs in favour of a transfer to the Weston Homes Community Stadium but enthused that he 'loves' being with the U's.

'I`m loving being at Colchester,' the 23-year-old added.

Okuonghae, who can also operate at full-back, concluded: 'I can`t wait to play some games - the quality of the squad looks very good. There`s a good team spirit in the squad and everyone works hard in training.'

So do you agree with the new boy?
