Transfer News: Club Confirm Williams Signing

Ben Williams is officially Colchester United`s newest recruit, signing from Carlisle for an undisclosed sum.

Chief Excusive, Steve Bradshaw, broke the news this evening on Dream 100 radio, while the club were appearing as part of a new weekly chatshow.

Having spoken in the Colchester Gazette earlier today, Bradshaw has been a busy man.

He told the newspaper in this morning`s edition that he felt the club had shown a desired to win promotion next term with a clutch of signings.

"It is testament to (manager) Paul Lambert and his team that our commitment and ambition to be a Championship club is being shown in every respect," he said.

Bradshaw added: 'All football clubs are in a different position than they were three years ago and we`re no different.

'But it shows that despite the climate, we`re showing ambition both by bringing in exciting new players and making sure that we`re getting the best deals, as part of a sensible wage structure," he finished.

So, is Williams going to be any good?
