Lua Lua Considers 'Dream' U's Return

Former U`s, Newcastle, Portsmouth and Olympiakos striker Lomana LuaLua has officially confirmed his intent to one day rejoin Colchester United.

The 28-year-old striker, reportedly a Sunderland target, is an admirer of Tottenham Hotspur and has previously told Vital Colchester in an interview that he longs to play at White Hart Lane.

He inspired a cult following at Colchester and later became famed for an audacious backflip goal celebration in the Premier League. Also popular in Greece, Lua Lua has a tribute song written about him on the internet.

The DR Congo international is now "keen" to return to Europe and the Premier League, following recent speculation that could come back to the North East this summer, as reported here.

He told the Colchester Evening Gazette: "Every time I get a chance to come back to Colchester, I do. I have some very happy memories of being here and that will never go away."

"Nothing is impossible - it would be a dream come true to play for Colchester again one day," adds the striker who turned out 61 times in stripes.

Lua Lua revealed has an uncertain future with his current club, based in Qatar. "When I signed, I thought it was a one-year contract. We`re looking to come to an agreement. I miss the Premier League."

Ahhh Lua Lua. The sommersaulting star that graced us at Fratton Park. Warmly remembered especially after scoring two goals as we thrashed Southampton 4-1. Lua Lua actually injured himself celebrating his second goal & went off. He did the same when scored against Arsenal, twisted his ankle as he landed. Missed some 5 matches, silly boy.

I think I can recall something like that happening! Would be welcomed back at Colchester, if as he says, he wants to come back in future... will he go to Sunderland?! Who knows!

I remember that game agaisnt the Saints. Was quality his goals. He will deffo be moving clubs by the sound of it, but to which, who knows. Depends how good the offers for him are. As he said, ideally he would like to come back to England, so there is hope.

No lie, I saw Lua Lua driving in his Bentley with private plate on Wednesday evening travelling between Clacton and Colchester near to Wivenhoe.
