Transfer Rumour: Offiong Stalling, Thomas To Join?

Colchester United's attempts to sign two strikers from SPL side Hamilton Academical could end in just one making the move South, if rumours are to be believed.

Rumours on Accies messageboard across the web are saying that front-man Richard Offiong has been unable to agree terms with the U's, however, others are saying that he is yet to talk to the U's.

While Frenchman Joel Thomas looks more likely to seal a switch to the Weston Homes Community Stadium, for the time being at least.

On Thursday Vital Colchester swiftly reacted to reports that the U's had agreed a £225,000 fee for the duo, click here.

However, it is widely thought that the majority of the money, if not all, is to secure the services of Offiong.

I would be happy to have them both but one would do for now.

Well, we need two strikers, would perfer Offiong out of the two. Would still really like ot see us go back in for Grant Holt. Up the U's!

I think Holt's the way to go as well- we should use the cash from Yeates' departure to up the bid and get him in. Failing that get Lomana back in!!!
The Stig
Its got to be worth just making Shrewsbury an offer that they can't refuse. A proven goalscorer should be our number 1 priority

We've got the money think an offer of 350-400k would be about right.
StevieG Col U
Cowling said that the Yeates money would be available for reinvestment so thats 500k at least, add to that whatever we got for Gerken and 500k that was available in January for Rob Jones and we should be abale to buy most L1/L2 strikers!!
ooohhJohnnieJackson
Yep, we must have money available! A fair bit at this level if you think about it. Have been surprised with how little Lambert has spent this summer.
