Lambert Hails 'Brilliant' Villa Game
Paul Lambert has revealed how excited he is ahead of tonight's pre-season encounter with Aston Villa - even though its only a friendly!
The U's entertain the Premiership giants, mainly due to Lambert's strong connection with Villa chief Martin O`Neill. Lambert played under him in his time at Parkhead, with Celtic, and faces him as a manager.
He told The Daily Gazette: 'It`s brilliant to play against Aston Villa and I thank them for bringing them down.'
O'Neill worked wonders while with The Hoops, something that Lambert recognises.
'Martin O`Neill did a brilliant job at Celtic and put them where they are today,' he added.
