Two Vs Town For Price Of One!

Fabian Wilnis` testimonial match will follow a regular pre-season game against Ipswich Town this afternoon in a Portman Road double header.

"People must not forget that, first and foremost, it is a pre-season match and not a testimonial, the Dutchman said earlier this summer. A smattering of his ex-teammates will line up gainst a Colchester choice XI.

The first match will feature an almost full-strength side, with Steve Gillespie and Paul Reid the only major doubts for the U`s. It kicks off at 2pm.

The second match has been dubbed an all-star game and will feature ex-players, including former Town winger, Martin Reuser.
Defender Wilnis, once tipped to move to Colchester after his Town release last summer, spent a decade with the Suffolk club.

He has since been playing non-league football at Greys Athletic and now plans to return home to Holland.

Wilnis, on his testimonial, added: "It`s going to be very big, I hope and great for the two towns and the community. It`s also nice to be playing our next door neighbours and having both sets of supporters there in force to watch their team."

United also also have a reserve-team game taking place against Clacton today.

Never went, think there was 13,000, not a bad crowd.
