Transfer News: Duo Join Rivals

Colchester United defensive duo Matt Heath and John White have penned month-long loan deals with fierce Essex rivals Southend United.

Neither Heath or White feature in U's boss Paul Lambert's plans for next season, so a move away looked likely. However, a move to the Blues may come as a surprise to many fans of both sides.

Heath, who joined from Leeds permanently, at the start of last season, has failed to command a regular berth in the U's back-line and has fallen down the pecking order.

While, White, 23, is another player who has struggled to feature prominently since Lambert's arrival.

Both players loan deals are subject to relevant paperwork clearance from the footballing authorities.

So are you surprised to see the duo head to Roots Hall?

What a joke!? Southend cant muster a squad together, so have to loan in 2 of our players. lol

I find this quite funny! I'm just glad we haven't signed two of their rejects! Up the U's!

why are we allowing our players to go to Southend?? They certainly wouldnt allow any of theirs to come our way. Month long loans seem pretty short - I wonder if they are both with a view to permanent moves? Heath I dont really care about but I rate white and would like him to stay

Yep, seems strange... Not bothered about Heath - far to injury prone...

White better get some football and then come back contending for the starting side!

Would be good, but dont think Lambert will play him again.. But Vernon has forced his way back in so there could be hope...

Don't know who I feel most sorry for - Jhon White or our own fans!!
